With some minor modifications, the 2.3L Turbo engine can produce some outstanding power. In stock form, the stock tube-and-fin intercooler is barely sufficient at cooling the incoming charged air. When you start adding power using a tune and/or bolt-on parts, you'll soon find that you're well beyond the limits of the stock charge air system which is notoriously prone to heat soak. Thankfully Injen Technology has developed a highly efficient bar-and-plate intercooler engineered specifically to fit the Ford Focus RS MK3 platform.
